The Pawleys Retreat neighborhood is nestled between the Waccamaw River
and Atlantic Ocean conveniently located adjacent to the elementary and
high schools.
The Retreat was developed in 1983 as a gated community with both cluster
units and single family homes. Originally the road system was private
but it was made public in 1998 and was turned over to Georgetown County
for maintenance.
The Property Owners Association was formed in 1986 and became owner controlled
when the developer turned over deed in 1998. The Cluster Unit board consists
of 5 elected members. They have their own Management Company and Landscape
Maintenance contract. The parent POA is made up 9 board members and our
Restrictions, Rules and Covenants pertain to all with some articles specific
only to Clusters.
Our amenities include the Lake System, Park, Peninsula (walking trail)
and Boat Storage. There are 246 property owners of which 34 are Cluster
Units.
